Everytime I walked into The 3 Clubs (our favorite Fringe watering hole) on Vine Street in Los Angeles, I could not help but think about the history of this bar. It was dark, the booths were red and there was a faint smell of stale cigarettes evident from years ago. Nothing fancy except the state of the art Juke Box, HD TVs hanging on the right and left of the bar top and an old school push and peck cash register with a modern digital screen to show the pricing, of course. It was a place featured in the movie Swingers back in the 90’s, but for some reason it was more to me. I can’t explain it, but it kinda felt like whenever I entered the bar, I was transported back to the early years of Hollywood. As if, this was “the spot” where deals where made and hearts were broken. A place where through the smoke you might see Dean Martin chatting it up with Lucille Ball. Or perhaps, a new starlet getting her three picture deal with Paramount. It was just cool. Established in 1991, I felt like it was 1961 in old school Hollywood.
